Roadrunner Hub Food Pantry

The Food Pantry was started in Fall 2008 because many faculty and staff noticed that too many students they were coming to class or hungry.  Many of those students had no food available and were having difficulty focusing in their classes.  With a $1,500 grant from the President, a food pantry was started and because of generous staff donations, payroll deductions and student food drives, we have been able to keep that pantry operating on the original $1,500 for ten years.

In 2018, Butte College received a food insecurity grant and opened the Roadrunner Hub.

Students are welcome to grab a bag of food while on campus. We now have a refrigerator and freezer allowing us to provide not just shelf stable food, but fresh and frozen produce and dairy.
